About Me
Melina Joseph graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in communications, emphasis in broadcast journalism. She has had her fair share of jobs in the Entertainment industry - Ms. Joseph currently work at Shutterstock as Manager of Event Assignments, where she manages and maintains the entertainment and fashion events calendar, contributes to social media, and assigns photographers and editors to red carpet events.
Her first internship was at a media site founded by Power106 DJ Mando Fresko called Hubwav, where she was an editorial intern alongside one other intern. Together they helped create content for the site, which was just starting up at the time. Melina spent a full year at Hubwav and then found herself working as a talent escort for award shows, such as Nickelodeon's Kid Choice Awards, FOX Teen Choice Awards, ESPN Espy Awards, FX Creative Arts Emmy Awards, The CW Critic's Choice Awards, NBC Telemundo Latin American Music Awards, and the list goes on. Simultaneously, Ms. Joseph was working as a Sports Reporter for another digital site called Swish Appeal, where she covered the WNBA, specifically LA Sparks and, on occasion, the LA Lakers. She hosted stand-ups, managed social media accounts, and wrote game recaps for the site. Another year passed and it was on to the next big thing, Ball Out.
Melina was an Entertainment Reporter for this site for a year, doing the same duties as Swish Appeal. This included red carpet events, movie premieres, NBA games, and music festivals. During her time at Ball Out, she was also an event coordinator intern for the Amber Rose Slut Walk, an empowering movement dedicated to breaking stereotypes and ending sexual and social injustices, derogatory labeling, and gender inequality. Ms. Joseph has also worked many music festivals like, EDC, HARD Summer, Rolling Loud, Escape, and Nocturnal Wonderland, as a ticket scanner, info/lost and found, and email support & live chat customer experience.
She was an Executive Assistant to Entertainment Lawyer/Producer Walter Mosley of Mosley and Associates before her time at Shutterstock. At Mosley and Associates Melina managed Mr. Mosley and his clients' calendars, summarized movie and television show scripts, negotiated podcast, movie, and television show contracts, and completed client retainer agreements and invoices.
