You may have heard through the grapevine or seen on social media that Ed Sheeran is coming out with a new collaboration project titled, No.6 Collaborations Project. This sixth EP comes after his fifth EP titled, maybe you can guess, yes, you guessed right, No.5 Collaborations Project, which came out way back in 2011.
“Before I was signed in 2011, I made an EP called No.5 Collaborations Project. Since then, I’ve always wanted to do another, so I started No.6 on my laptop when I was on tour last year. I’m a huge fan of all the artists I’ve collaborated with and it’s been a lot of fun to make,” Ed Sheeran wrote on Instagram.
No.5 includes 8 tracks featuring artists like, Ghetts, Devlin, P Money, and others. I’m going to be honest, those are all artists I have never heard of before but I’m sure are very great and well respected. The artists featured on this new collab project, on the other hand, are all incredibly popular and are all mainstream, so you can see why this is kind of a big deal.
The UK songwriter recently posted a picture on Instagram of the new tracklist and the featured artists. Let me tell you, when I say the list is insane, I mean, the list is iiinnnsssaaannneee. Artists include, Khalid, Cardi B, Young Thug, H.E.R., Bruno Mars, Ella Mai, Eminem, Travis Scott, and that’s not even half of it! I know, I can’t believe it either.
Justin Bieber was already expected to be on No.6 because of his and Sheeran’s new hit release, “I Don’t Care” that dropped on May 10. In addition, Sheeran dropped the new video for “Cross Me” featuring Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock, which came out a couple weeks after “I Don’t Care” on May 24. This means, you can add Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock to the already massive line-up that will be included in No.6.
To top it off, the 28-year-old singer announced today that another one of his songs off the much anticipated project is dropping Friday. The new song is Khalid-featured and titled, "Beautiful People." Clearly, they named the song after themselves.
The 15-track EP No.6 Collaborations Project is set to release on July 12. In the meantime, take a look at the dope tracklist below and try not to freak out too much.
